Oklahoma Native Tracy Letts Receives Tony Nomination

Tulsa-born playwright and actor Tracy Letts received a Tony nomination Tuesday for his role as George in the 50th anniversary Broadway revival of "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"

Letts was nominated along with Tom Hanks, Nathan Lane, Dave Hyde Pierce and Tom Sturridge for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play.

In 2008, Letts won a Tony and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for August: Osage County.

The winner will be announced on Sunday, June 9, 2013 on CBS.

Letts graduated from Durant High School.

In 2012, movie crews were in Bartlesville, Pawhuska and several other Osage County communities for the filming of the movie version of August: Osage County.
