A Bartlesville teenager entered a not guilty plea during a court appearance Wednesday morning, May 1, 2013.
Sammy Chavez, 18, is charged with planning to perform an act of violence. He was arrested after police got a tip in December 2012 that Chavez had made threats concerning a shooting plot at the high school.
A court-ordered evaluation stated Chavez is competent to stand trial on the charge.

During Wednesday's appearance, the judge ordered Chavez back July 22, 2013 for a scheduling hearing.
Chavez remains in the Washington County jail on a $1 million bond.
