An Oklahoma City family is thanking two members of the Oklahoma City police department after they helped save their baby's life.

These two members of the police department were definitely at the right place at the right time. Now they are being honored, not just by the family, but by the police department as well.

It was April 2nd 2012. Gared Watkins and his wife were having dinner with their one-year-old son Enoch at the IHOP restaurant down in Bricktown, when all of a sudden, Enoch started choking on a strawberry.

Shane Benear, who was an ambassador with the OKC police department was in the restaurant and noticed the commotion. Shane noticed the child was not breathing, so he and another patron started administering CPR.

Luckily Sgt. Stacy Bowien was just down the street. And once she arrived, she sprang into action. Bowien has two children of her own and immediately started working on the little baby boy to try to dislodge the strawberry that had become lodged in his throat.

Now, a year later, Bowien had the chance to meet the little boy who's life she saved.

This Friday, Both Bowien and Benear will be recieving the lifesaving award at the Oklahoma City police department's awards banquet. Both News 9's Adrianna Iwasinski and Stan Miller will be the emcees at this year's police banquet, honoring those who protect and serve our city and our state.
