Convicted Oklahoma Rapist Sentenced To Prison In Missouri

A Newton County, Missouri judge ordered Johnny Davis, 33, of Nowata County to serve 15 years on each charge. The sentences are to be served concurrently.

An Oklahoma man has been sentenced to prison for kidnapping and assaulting two Joplin women in 2011.

A Newton County, Missouri judge ordered Johnny Davis, 33, of Nowata County to serve 15 years on each charge.  The sentences are to be served concurrently.

A jury found Davis guilty in March 2013.

Johnny Davis was arrested outside a Joplin hospital after two women told authorities they were abducted near a Joplin truck stop, taken into Oklahoma and  assaulted then returned to Missouri.

According to Oklahoma court records Davis was convicted of first-degree rape in Craig County in 1998. He was sentenced to 30 years, with 6 years suspended and was paroled in July 2010.

Court records show Davis still faces a first-degree rape charge filed in June 2012 in Nowata County.
