It's not every day an Olympian comes into town and stops at an Oklahoma school. So when one does, you bet the kids are listening.

It's all in an effort to run and stomp out obesity.

Ryan Hall, American distance record holder and Olympian, spent the day at Ranchwood Elementary in Yukon. He was there inspiring students to stay active and to kick obesity.

Students were given tips on a healthier lifestyle, but they also joined together for a little running outdoors.

"Being out here with the kids and seeing them interact with each other as they run, and seeing them encourage each other as they run, you get this feel of community. I think running can be a beautiful thing when we all come together when we're going after the same goals together," Hall said.

Nearly 34 percent of Oklahoma youth are overweight or obese.
