A big day for the 3,000 Oklahoma State University graduates as they got their degrees, but for one business major, Saturday morning was made extra-special with a surprise visit.

This surprise took a lot of planning and coordination, but it went off without a hitch this morning at OSU's business school breakfast reception. The graduate's reaction says it all.

Lauren Reid wanted nothing more than for her older brother, US Army Sergeant Chris Upshaw to see her graduate. But during deployment to Guam, the chances of her brother coming home were slim.

Upshaw didn't want to miss this one. As Lauren walked across the stage, diploma in hand, she became the first person in her family to earn a degree. her brother looked on with pride.

Upshaw has to go back to Guam, but for today the family is just enjoying the moment. Upshaw tells News 9 he had to make Lauren's graduation today because she made it to his basic training graduation.
