Emergency crews have located the body of a 14-year-old boy who drowned at Liberty Lake near Guthrie Monday night.

Guthrie police responded to a report of a possible drowning just before 6 p.m.

According to police, crews searched for the victim on the northeast side of the lake. At about 8 p.m., authorities located the victim's body.

Officers say the boy was swimming toward the middle of the lake with a group of other teenagers, when he suddenly went under water.

The boy was under water for at least two hours before his body was recovered.

There hasn't been a drowning at Liberty lake in at least 15 years, police said.

Authorities have not released the victim's identity.
