Police say they could have responded sooner to an armed robbery of a West Tulsa Sonic restaurant, if someone had called them right after the incident late Tuesday.

Police say a man and a woman armed with a handgun went inside the Sonic near 23rd and Southwest Boulevard and demanded money just after 11:30 p.m.

After employees handed over the cash, the man and woman ran away. No one was hurt.

Police expressed concern about the 15-minute delay from the time of the robbery to when officers were notified. An investigation into the delay continues.

Police say the man is a black male, 35 to 40 years of age, 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, wearing a red shirt, black pants and a hat.  The woman is a white female, 25 years of age, 5-feet-4, 140 pounds and wearing a yellow shirt.

Officers say a K9 officer attempted to track the pair but was unable to do so.

If you know anything about this robbery, Tulsa Police ask you call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
