Philbrook Installs Sign On Brady Arts District Satellite Museum

Philbrook Downtown took a giant step towards its June 14 opening by installing a sign Friday morning. The satellite location will house some of the midtown museum's Native American art, modern and contemporary art collections.

The Brady Arts District addition is housed in the Mathews Warehouse, one of the renovation projects initiated by the George Kaiser Family Foundation. It is located in the former Tulsa Paper Company building at the corner of Brady Street and Boston Avenue.The 30,000 square-feet gallery will have two floors space dedicated to artwork.

The opening exhibition will focus on abstract art from the 20th and 21st centuries, according to a release from Philbrook. The main gallery on the second floor will present the museum's Native American work including the recently acquired Eugene B. Adkins collection.

Philbrook Downtown will be open from 12-7 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 12-5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $9 for adults and $7 for students and senior citizens. Under 17 get in free.
