After fighting off the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday, the Oklahoma softball team responded with a dominating performance on Sunday afternoon in the Norman regional final.

The Sooners pounded the Razorbacks in five innings, 14-1 to claim the Norman regional and advance to the Super Regional round next weekend.

The trip to the Super Regional round will be the fourth in a row for the Sooners and OU will face the winner of Baylor and Texas A&M.

In the three regional games, OU outscored its opponents, 41-6.

Against the Razorbacks, the Sooners capitalized on four Arkansas errors with nine of the 14 OU runs being unearned.

Keilani Ricketts and Michelle Gascoigne once again combined to shut down the Arkansas offense, give up just three hits and four walks while striking out seven batters.

The lone Arkansas run came on a solo home run from Devon Wallace in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Lauren Chamberlain finished up her sensational regional performance with a three-run homer in the third inning, part of a five-run inning that began to put the game out of reach. For the weekend, Chamberlain finished with 13 RBIs.

Shelby Pendley homered to lead off the fourth inning, part of a six-run inning, and Javen Henson hit a two-run shot in the fifth to put the finishing touches on a great weekend for the Sooners.
