OU Athletics officials have been advised by local relief agencies that the best way to help Oklahoma disaster victims is to text REDCROSS to 90999 to give $10 or go online to make a donation at RedCross.org.

The University of Oklahoma has also mobilized many of its resources to assist in relief efforts for those individuals and families impacted by the recent tornadoes across the state of Oklahoma.

"Many families have been impacted by the devastating storms that have impacted various parts of the state of Oklahoma the past two days, including members of the University of Oklahoma community," said vice president of intercollegiate athletic programs and director of athletics Joe Castiglione. "This is coming less than a year after many others were affected by tornadoes and wildfires in our area. We need to keep countless people in our daily thoughts and prayers as they face these challenges for the months and years to come.

"Under the leadership of OU President David Boren, we will work diligently with local agencies to support the long-term recovery efforts of our friends, neighbors and the communities devastated by this tragedy," he continued. "At this time, the best way to help those in need is to support the relief efforts being coordinated by the Red Cross."

Oklahoma head football coach Bob Stoops also expressed his grief and urged concerned individuals to consider making a donation to the Red Cross to assist their ongoing assistance to Oklahoma families.

"Our prayers go out to the many families devastated by this tragedy," said Stoops. "Any loss of life is terrible, but it's even more heartbreaking any time you know that children were among those who perished or were seriously injured.

"It's going to be a long-term effort to get everyone back on their feet in all of the communities that have been impacted across Oklahoma," Stoops continued. "We have to do all that we can to help our neighbors in this time of need. The easiest way to help is through the Red Cross, who has resources in places to help the people who need it most. Make sure to designate your gift for the Oklahoma disaster relief efforts."

The University of Oklahoma housed over 100 displaced individuals on Monday, including members of the National Guard. For individuals who have continuing shelter needs, the emergency housing hotline is: 405.325.2511.

The University is also providing meal service and a common area for displaced individuals at Couch Cafeteria.
