A Tulsa Police standoff ends eight hours after it began Tuesday with a 19-year-old man taken to jail.  It began just after 2 p.m. at a home near 10th and Lewis.

Police say the man's mother called after Marquise Edwards saying he was tearing up the home.

The mother fled the home along with a small child, but police say Edwards remained inside, possibly armed with a shotgun.

They said Edwards had several outstanding warrants, including robbery, first degree burglary, and uttering a forged instrument.

Police called for their special operations team when Edwards indicated he did not intend to come out.

Police Officer Jillian Robertson said after deploying several rounds of pepper balls and gas into the home, officers entered the home.

"We learned that he possibly had a shotgun inside and was being violent to his own family members that's what escalated this to an event where we knew he wasn't going to come out of the house on his own," said Tulsa Police officer Jillian Roberson.

Robertson said Edwards was found in the attic and arrested.  Officers also found the shotgun.

Marquise Edwards was booked into the Tulsa County jail on a complaint of resisting arrest and the outstanding warrants.
