Not only will we be under the gun for several rounds of severe weather over the next few days, but also the potential for too much rain too fast….particularly for Friday night into the morning hours of Saturday. Notice the QPF map on the right which is valid through this coming Saturday. Notice in particular the bulls-eye over NE OK and adjacent states where 6" or more of rain will be possible. Keep in mind, this is an areal average for that time period and locally heavier amounts will also be possible.

Between now and then, there will be several chances for storms, some severe, along with the threat of heavy rains. All modes of severe weather will be possible for this evening through the night tonight, again late Thursday into the night, and again later Friday and through that night. Strongly advise keeping a close eye on the weather throughout this time period as conditions can change very rapidly.

This unsettled period will finally come to an end Saturday as a cool front pushes on through the state during the morning hours. Northerly winds behind the cool front will bring drier, more stable, and somewhat cooler air into the state resulting in improving conditions during the day Saturday. Sunday and Monday should be pleasant for early June with milder nights and lots of sunshine during the day.

So, if we can just make it through the next couple of days without getting blown away or washed away, we do have some more pleasant weather to look forward to.

In the meantime, stay tuned and check back for updates.
