It will be a long road to recovery in Canadian County as homes and businesses are gone. One El Reno family rode out the storm in Chickasha hoping their home and animal rescue would be spared, but when they returned they saw there wasn't much left.

"I love my home, I really love my home," said Angela Coble in tears after a tornado tore down all her family's known in El Reno. "This house is 117 years old, and I was like we're okay, it's going to be fine and you know, it's just not."

Pieces of wood, trees split in half and damaged bedding are all that's left. It was also the home of several llamas, dogs, donkeys, cats and horses as the Acres of Angels animal refuge farm.

"We haven't taken an exact head count, but there are some that have made it and some that have not," Coble said.

Dozens of volunteers showed up to the Coble's home off Highway 66 ready to work. People gave from their hearts and their wallets. Wade Burleson is pastor at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Enid, more than an hour away. He said he had to show up to help Coble's family.

"That's the Oklahoma spirit, we're going to get her back on her feet," Burleson said. "I am telling you, I have never been prouder to be an Oklahoman."

The Coble family plans to stay with family in Yukon as they decide what to do with the home. For now, they don't plan to rebuild in El Reno. They're thankful to be alive, but know they lost so much.

"Just a lot of memories," Coble said. "And you know everything can be replaced but the memories."
