Police Arrest Harrah Man Accused Of Raping Young Child

A Harrah man is behind bars, accused of molesting and taking pornographic pictures of a 7-year-old girl.

The accused man is currently being held on more than $800,000 bond.

The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office says 32-year-old Mathew Riffel admitted to taking pornographic pictures of his young victim and also detailed how he inappropriately touched and raped her.

"Through the investigation, detectives were able to determine that Mr. Riffel admittedly abused this very young child," said Mark Myers, spokesperson for the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office.

On Tuesday, the sheriff's office got a call to a home located near S.E. 29th Street and Dobbs, after the child's mother found lewd photos of her daughter on Riffel's cell phone.

The Sheriff's report states when she "confronted Matthew about the photograph" he told her to "delete the photo and not to worry about it."

This is one of those cases that you look at where a young child has been taken advantage of by an adult, and you are a parent you can't understand how or why someone would do something like this," said Myers.

When officers arrived they found Matthew in the back seat of a family member's car and that he was already in handcuffs.

Family members confirm Matthew tried to run away, but they found him hiding on their property, and convinced him to give up.

"The only good thing in this is that when the witness saw what was happening, she contacted law enforcement," said Myers. "So we were able to get out there , make an arrest, and get him behind bars where he belongs."

Right now, we don't know if there are any more victims besides this young girl. The incident report states deputies found the child to be living in a house of filth.

All the children living inside the home have been taken into protective custody.
