Saturday Looking Good, Chance Storms Sunday.

Great weather for the evening and overnight hours, but warmer more humid conditions will be returning.  Also, a chance of showers/storms on Sunday.

Mighty nice start to our day as the low temperature map on the right, courtesy of the OK Mesonet, clearly shows. Don't often get these kind of temperatures in the month of June so enjoy as it will not be long till the heat and humidity reasserts itself. The drier air which allowed for those mild early morning temperatures will be with us through the day today and overnight tonight. That is due to the light northerly winds which is also keeping our daytime temperatures from getting out of hand.

Bottom line is one more pleasant evening and night tonight with morning lows again in the 50s to near 60 to start your Saturday morning. After that, southerly winds kick in and the temperature/humidity start climbing.

Mid 80s are expected for Saturday and Sunday which is close to normal, but more cloud cover will be moving in during the day Saturday and mostly cloudy skies for much of the day Sunday. Also, a complex of storms is expected to be forming in KS late Saturday which will be making a run at us for late Saturday night and into the day Sunday. This will bring another decent shot of rain for the late Saturday night/Sunday morning time frame in particular with possibly some lingering showers/storms into the afternoon as well. Cannot rule out a few of those storms potentially having some damaging winds or hail.

After that, ridging aloft becomes more dominant bringing an end to most of the shower activity and warmer, more humid conditions. A few showers/storms may re-develop on Monday but after that any rain looks to be hard to come by. Also, brisk southerly winds will keep very warm, humid air over us for much of the coming week.

Although we have only had one day so far this year that was at or above the 90 degree mark, that will be changing during the coming week. We will be close to 90 on Monday and should be in the 90s after that with of course the humidity making it feel even warmer. Also, our nights will be warmer with overnight lows generally in the upper 60s to lower 70s for much of next week as well.

Bottom line is here comes Summer! So, stay tuned and check back for updates.
