Miranda Lambert may be one-half of country music's modern version of Johnny and June, but her whole heart is invested in Oklahoma.

When the native Texan married fellow crooner Blake Shelton, she adopted his Sooner State as her own.

It was evident as she shed tears at the May tornado benefit event in Oklahoma City. It's evident as she sings "Oklahoma Sky" on the album "Four the Record."

And it even shines through in her business sense.

Last year, Lambert opened a women's lifestyle boutique on Main Street in Tishomingo, where she and Shelton live. The response has been overwhelming.

A single post about a new T-shirt added to the inventory sends Facebook into a frenzy. Women from all over take cross-country trips just to grab up the merchandise. And others have been begging the store to start an online commerce site.

Earlier this year, Lambert offered up a statement about her vision for the store and how it affects sleepy Tishomingo and its 3,000 residents.

And on Sunday, The Pink Pistol reiterated Lambert's words on the store's official Facebook page:

"In Miranda Lambert's previous statement, her goal was to open a store in Tishomingo, OK and to bring commerce to this little town. When she was awarded Small Business of the Year award in Tishomingo,OK the presenter stated that they had never seen this much activity in this town in their whole life. Main Street, that once had no activity, is now thriving with new businesses and [opportunity] all because of Miranda's dream. The Chamber of Commerce stated that they would have never believed that Tishomingo, OK would become such a destination location like Branson, MO. For that reason, Miranda will not have an online store, do orders over the phone, or facebook, and will not ship out. She wants everyone to come visit her own piece of Heaven."

Lambert is savvy enough to know the limitless cash online sales could generate. However, the singer is forfeiting the chance to grow her own bank account and brand in order to save a dying Main Street. Tishomingo can use all the sales tax revenue it can get, and visitors to Lambert's store will help other businesses in the town to flourish as well.

Seems it's a way for her to pay back Oklahoma for embracing a wild Texas girl.

On her official website, Lambert talks about the significance of the song "Oklahoma Sky," which was penned by songwriting maven Allison Moorer as a wedding gift. It's called "a country benediction for the bride's new beginning," and Lambert recorded it with a full heart.

"I'm from Texas," Lambert said. "And we're Texas-proud and annoying and all that. I will always be from Texas. But now with this new life, I've moved away from my family and started my own and married an Okie. I feel like it's my ode to my beautiful new home state. Just as much as I love Texas, I now love Oklahoma, and it's my song for my life there now."

Listen to "Oklahoma Sky"

Lambert, Shelton and their many dogs are often seen bouncing around rural Johnson County in their pickup, millionaire celebrities out blending with regular folks. Patrons of The Pink Pistol shouldn't be surprised if their cashier happens to be a bubbly blonde with a Texas drawl. Lambert is a regular in her boutique.

"Tishomingo is the epitome of a great, small American town," Lambert said on her website.

And with her recent public pledge to do what she can to boost its economy, tiny Tish has a worldwide ambassador.

Like her song says, "Meet me underneath the Oklahoma sky."
