An entire community stands behind a Duncan family after their daughter was murdered in her home.

Alyssa Wiles, 14, was found in her home, stabbed to death allegedly by her 16-year-old boyfriend.

Family, close friends and hundreds of people from this community have showed in support wearing lime green. News 9 is told it was Alyssa's favorite color. Those close to her say she was teenager full of life.

We talked to one of Alyssa's favorite teachers and her best friend.

"It was disbelief. I was really saddened and sickened because that's the first student I've had that's been killed," said 7th grade math teacher, Kim Mays.

Alyssa Wiles was a teenager who loved dance and was excited about wrapping up her 8th grade year, and going to high school.

"She was such a vibrant young lady. It didn't need to happen to her, had a smile that was infectious," said Mays.

Her life was tragically cut short on Monday, after prosecutors say her 16-year-old boyfriend Michael Ray brutally stabbed her several times with a butcher knife. Mays says the community has rallied around Alyssa's family in support.

"She did impact more people than they ever knew, ever. They didn't realize the impact that Alyssa had had when so many people," Mays said.

"I'm sad, but she was always really, really happy," said best friend, Sally Pollock.

Pollock says she is just trying to stay strong.

"We did everything together, so it will be like not having a sister anymore," Pollock said.

"The last day she was at the middle school, she had to come back and tell me bye. She walked in the room smiling and she ducked her head a little bit, and she said ‘I came to tell you…', and at the same time, we said ‘I love you,'" said Mays.

That was the last time she heard from Alyssa.

And, we know tonight, 16-year-old Ray will be tried as an adult.
