Your 2 Cents: Tree Drive Following The May Tornadoes

Posted: Updated:

The tornado victims have lost so much, some everything. Several mentioned how sad it is that so many trees were shredded and I suggested a tree drive in the future.

Here's what you had to say.

Carole Ann:
"Maybe some Murrah Survivor seedlings can be donated...Oklahomans are survivors!"

Larry says:
"Trees for the damaged areas would be a great thing."

I think Claud missed the point:
"Trees, really? co-workers who were impacted are far more concerned with replacing roofs, cars, appliances, and other things far more important than trees.."

The Mayor of Moore was watching and wrote in:
"We started Moore Beautiful after the '99 tornado to replace trees. Our plan is to plant a tree in everybody's yard who rebuilds." -Moore Mayor Glenn Lewis

Judith lost her home and her grandson's tree:
"Nothing will replace that particular tree in my heart. But a tree in it's place would sure help my grieving process along."

Patrick writes:
"I lost my home and over 150 trees, including one very large 125-year-old tree. Trees really are a big deal.."

And finally Carla says:
"We bought 10 acres of wooded land in the Bethel area about 20 years ago. We carved out our little home in the midst of the trees. May 19 changed it to 8 acres of brush with our little house standing in the middle."
