Tulsans may start seeing a special envelope in the mail any day now, asking for donations to help pay for the big Fourth of July fireworks show along the banks of the Arkansas River.

The RiverParks Authority is asking for donations to support its annual show called "ONEOK FreedomFest," which is an incredible display that's free to the public.

The event has corporate sponsorship, but that doesn't pay all the bills. ONEOK's contribution pays for about one-third of the total costs.

RiverParks Director Matt Meyer said it will cost about $120,000 to stage the event this year, including fireworks, and he's appealing to Tulsans to contribute to the cost.

Tulsa utility customers will find a contribution envelope in their bills this month.

"You'll see a little envelope like this and people can send in -- $5, $10 -- and that's one way they can help sponsor this event," Meyer said.
