A Tulsa man was taken from Eufaula Lake by medical helicopter after a boating injury, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Two men were tubing on the lake near the Belle Starr area just before 2 p.m. on Saturday when they took a spill, the OHP report says.

The driver of the boat, James Moon, 49, of Broken Arrow, came back around to pick up his passengers. George Cameron Miller, 19, attempted to grab the ladder on the back of the boat and suffered a 10-inch gash to his calf.

Passengers pulled Miller onto the boat and applied a tourniquet to stop the bleeding.

Miller was transported by Southeast EMS to a Eufaula hospital, then to a Tulsa hospital.

His condition is unknown, but he is said to be stable, the report says.

All boaters were wearing personal floating devices, according to OHP.
