The old Oklahoma Educational Television Authority studio at 811 North Sheridan in Tulsa has been sold.

The state's Office of Management and Enterprise Services says it received a high bid of $130,000 at a sealed bid auction last month.

The building is the first state-owned building sold under a new law designed to liquidate or repurpose underutilized state assets.

State officials say the former studio was identified as underutilized last year.

"OMES will be working with other agencies to sell more underutilized properties like this in the coming months and years. It's a worthwhile effort to responsibly manage and maintain taxpayer assets," said OMES Director Preston L. Doerflinger.

Doerflinger says the sale of the 6,500 square-foot building is expected to close in the next 60 days.
