The sheriff's office says this is not a dispute between a business owner and a customer.

Four people have told the same story of how they gave a man money up front and never heard from him again.

Dennis Hull wanted to build a pole barn that was part workshop and part area to have his large family enjoy fellowship. So, when he saw an ad for All Seasons Plus and met with Ed Meyer, who said he'd been in the business 30 years, Dennis signed a contract.

Hull agreed to pay $6,000 down, another $6,000 after the poles and concrete were set and the final $3,500 when the job was complete in seven days.

"I expressed to him this may not be a big deal to a lot of people, but for us, it was a huge deal," Hull said. "I refinanced our property to get the money to have it built. He reassured me several times, ‘I'll take care of ya.'"

Hull said he paid the first $6,000 in April and after a couple weeks, the poles were set and concrete poured. So Hull paid the next $6,000. But that's when the work stopped.

Hull said no one returned his calls or texts until late May, when a woman claiming to be Meyer's daughter called from a restricted number.

"He'd been in the hospital and was getting out," Hull said. "It was the week before Memorial Day and he wouldn't be there Monday but, he'd be out Tuesday. No show, no contacts, no anything."

The other three Rogers County victims report the same story, but, one says the woman who called claimed Meyer was having heart problems and another time, said he was in a car wreck.

Investigators said Meyer has a warrant in Indiana for 12 counts of fraud.

"Our goal is to make Rogers County his last stop, the Rogers County Jail and put an end to it," Rogers County Sheriff Scott Walton said.

We called and texted Meyer but got no response.

Hull's friends helped put up the trussess and he's borrowed additional money to try to make the building weatherproof, but he said it'll take a long time to finish.

"Course you're mad at first, then it's sickening and frustrating," Hull said.

Now that the sheriff's office has presented charges, once they are approved, they plan to track down and arrest Meyer.

Whether the victims will ever see their money again? That remains to be seen.
