NEWALLA, Oklahoma -

Cleveland County Sheriff's deputies arrested two people on Wednesday who are accused of looting in the Newalla disaster area.

According to the Sheriff's office, a deputy was patrolling in the 16000 block of Harrah Road when he saw a pickup parked in a driveway. The area was damaged in the May 19 tornado.

The deputy noticed the pickup bed was loaded with scrap metal, and two men, identified as Nathan Lee Simpson, 23, of Del City, and Ace William Morgan, 24, of Norman, were near the truck.

The deputy said one of the men was breaking down a satellite dish and loading it into the truck bed. The other suspect was removing scrap metal from the home and throwing it in the vehicle.

Morgan told the deputy he once lived at the home and paid rent. However, he moved from the home on June 1. The deputy contacted the property owner who confirmed that Morgan was no longer living at the home.

The property owner told the deputy neither Morgan nor Simpson had permission to be on the property to remove anything.

Simpson and Morgan admitted to being on the property without permission and taking scrap metal, according to the Sheriff's office. Simpson told the deputy he accompanied Morgan to the area to help him.

The men were arrested on complaint of disturbing a disaster area. They were booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center. Formal charges against the men are pending.

Deputies have arrested eight people since June 12 for disturbing a disaster area.
