Oklahoma has 9,000 buildings we're paying for. Of course, most are necessary to house state employees and do business for our state.

Now the state has identified the first three dozen properties they plan to liquidate. One expected to be on the market soon is the former Bureau of Investigation building on NE 36th near Martin Luther King.

There are a total of eight buildings across the state on the market now or will be in the coming months. One just sold. The former OETA studio in Tulsa went at auction for $130,000.

The new Long Range Capital Planning Commission will then recommend putting more underutilized properties up for sale in what's expected to be a multi-year process.
