One Arrested After High-Speed Chase In NE OKC

One person is in custody after leading an Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputy on a high-speed chase in northeast Oklahoma City, Saturday afternoon.

One person is in custody after leading an Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputy on a high-speed chase in northeast Oklahoma City, Saturday afternoon.

According to the sheriff's office, the deputy attempted to stop a vehicle that was speeding near NE 63rd and Martin Luther King Ave. When the suspect spotted the deputy, he took off and the chase began around 4:30 p.m.

The chase ended around 4:50 p.m. when the suspect's vehicle go stuck on railroad tracks at NE 23rd St. and Interstate 235. The driver ditched the vehicle on foot, but was quickly apprehended.

The suspect, whose identity has not been released at this time, was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center.

Authorities have not said why they believe the suspect ran to begin with. No other information is known at this time.
