Felony charges have been filed on Monday against a former Stillwater police officer, who is accused of stealing prescription drugs from the police department.

Felony charges have been filed on Monday against a former Stillwater police officer, who is accused of stealing prescription drugs from the police department.

According to the Stillwater Police Department, Sgt. Tom McConaghy reportedly removed several prescription medications from the Drug Take Back bin at the police department.

The Stillwater Chief of Police requested Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation's help to investigate the case.

McConaghy resigned from the police department on July 4.

On Monday, Payne County District Attorney Tom Lee filed a felony charge of larceny of controlled dangerous substance against McConaghy.
