An Oklahoma City man who lost everything in the May 20 tornado turns to News 9 for help.

Bob Elliott lived in a home near 149th St. and Santa Fe Ave. for 28 years. Elliott says Farmers Insurance cut him a check for a new home just days after the tornado.

He says the local construction company that plans to rebuild his home told him there's been a delay in the permit paperwork at Oklahoma City Hall.  Elliott has wanted to know why.

"I realize there are different obstacles that come up, but we just want to get it done as soon as possible," he said.

City Spokesperson Kristy Yager says normally these kinds of permits take just an hour or two to approve.  She says those who apply for these permits can speed up the process, by not just dropping off paperwork at city hall, but staying there and waiting for it to get approved.

She says the city's looking into what happened with Bob Elliott, and will help him in any way they can.
