The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has reopened all lanes of I-44 after a semi rolled over Tuesday morning in the westbound lanes.

All lanes of westbound I-44 reopened at the I-44/SH-74/Lake Hefner Parkway Junction, just west of May Avenue around 10:30 a.m.

The roadway was shut down around 2 a.m. after a semi carrying frozen chicken nuggets turned over on the off-ramp to southbound I-44.

Crews spent most of the morning cleaning up the mess. The frozen chicken had to be unloaded before the truck could be lifted and put onto a tow truck.

The I-44 westbound ramp to I-44 southbound next to the N.W. 39th Expressway remained closed while crews cleared the accident. Drivers were being rerouted to the 39th Expressway.

No word on why the semi rolled. The truck driver is from Canada and troopers believe he was going above the speed limit when taking the ramp. The driver was not hurt. One passenger was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
