TULSA COUNTY, Oklahoma -

The Medical Examiner has identified a body found floating in the Arkansas River near Sand Springs earlier this week. The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office says the body is that of Timothy Erwin, 43, of Oilton.

In a news release, the sheriff's office says the Medical Examiner has not identified the cause of death.

The case remains open pending toxicology reports.

The sheriff's office said the body had no obvious signs of trauma "that would lead investigators to believe there was foul play in connection with his death."

Erwin's body was spotted by a woman fishing near the Highway 97 bridge in Sand Springs.

The sheriff's office asks if anyone who might have had contact with Erwin shortly before his death to call 918-596-8661.
