News 9 Chief Meteorologist Gary England received an award from the Oklahoma Rehabilitation Association (ORA) on Friday.

Hailey Mathis, a young woman from Bridge Creek who was injured as a tornado hit her community several years ago, presented the "News Media Award" to Gary during the ORA's conference luncheon.

Mathis says her life was saved during the tornado because she listened to Gary's warning.

The ORA is a professional organization for people who provide career counseling and vocational rehabilitation to help Oklahomans with disabilities go to work.
