An 18-year-old woman is behind bars, accused of killing her elderly father.

The Oklahoma City Gang Enforcement unit picked up Angelina Maria Davis in Del City Thursday. Her arrest warrant states her father, Jay Haskel Davis, was found with a cord wrapped around his neck, and may have been dead several days before he was found by two neighbors who came to check on him.

Those neighbors then called police.

Police found the body of 77-year-old Jay Davis back on March 24, inside his crumbling home on S.E. 17th Street. The home was bad when he lived here, but now is just falling apart. It's a wonder anyone was even able to live inside.

The Medical Examiner ruled Jay Davis' cause of death as ligature strangulation. The manner of death of homicide.

"Jay was a really sweet really compassionate person." said one friend, who did not wish to be identified.

Despite that, court papers say his 18-year-old daughter Angelina Maria Davis brutally killed him.

There's not much in the way of neighbors along S.E. 17th Street. Only one house is next door, and the neighbor wasn't home. But those who knew Jay Davis say they're not surprised his daughter is accused of killing him.

"She just ran with the wrong, wrong people," said a woman who knew both Jay and Angelina. "He'd show up to work with bruises on his face, and give us excuses and we're not stupid we know where those bruises come from we know she did it."

The arrest warrant states a friend told officers Davis provided illegal drugs to her father, and told that friend if he did not pay her for the drugs she would kill him.

Those court papers also state Davis was both a drug addict and a prostitute and harassed her father for money on a regular basis.

The arrest warrant also states that one witness told police that when he brought Davis to the home to retrieve some of her stuff, she told him not to step in a certain area, since that was the spot where her father died.

It states since she was not in the home at the time, officers were processing the crime scene,

There's no way she would have known that unless she was involved.

That same witness told investigators Davis asked his daughter to provide an alibi, and that he had been receiving threats against him regarding his participation in the case.
