Shock Dominate Atlanta To Run Winning Streak To Three Games

TULSA, Oklahoma -

It appears the Tulsa Shock have finally begun to put the pieces together.

The Shock extended its winning streak to a season-high three games Sunday afternoon, dominating the Atlanta Dream, 90-63.

It was easily the biggest win of the season for the Shock as far as records go. Atlanta came into Sunday's game 10-4, good for second place in the Eastern Conference.

Glory Johnson led Tulsa with a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds. Liz Cambage had a double-double of her own of 23 points and 15 rebounds. Candace Wiggins chipped in with 14 points.

Point guard Skylar Diggins returned from a sprained ankle injury and played 21 minutes, scoring four points and dishing three assists.

Atlanta was led by Angel McCoughtry's 21 points, while Erika De Souza was the only other Dream player in double figures with 12 points.

Instead of a win-streak snapping loss, the Shock jumped on Atlanta early, leading 25-16 after the first quarter and maintaining the lead throughout the entire game. Tulsa took the lead for good on a layup from Cambage that put the Shock on top, 7-5 with 7:53 to play in the first quarter.

Atlanta cut the lead to four on multiple occasions in the second quarter, but Tulsa took a 44-35 lead into the locker room and eventually ran the lead to 21 by the end of the third quarter, turning the game into a rout.

It doesn't take much to figure out why the Shock was able to win so handily on Sunday. Tulsa shot 52 percent from the floor and took care of the basketball, turning it over just 10 times. Tulsa also held Atlanta to a measly 32 percent shooting and didn't allow the Dream to make a 3-pointer all afternoon.

Tulsa also shared the ball well, gathering 19 assists on 33 made baskets, including a team-high six from Nicole Powell.
