EL RENO, Oklahoma -

An El Reno mother fears for her family. She says she is being harassed by strange men. Now she's warning other women in the area to be watchful.

Police have not connected a separate group of aggressive solicitors to a man who is allegedly following women and asking them personal questions. But, the mother of three young children still wants others to be aware.

"There was just something not right with the situation," said the El Reno mother.

Saturday afternoon, a routine trip to Wal-Mart turned into an experience that now has this young mother on edge. She says a man in a white van similar to the one seen in metro neighborhoods soliciting, harassed her in the parking lot.

"As I was walking to my car, the white van pulls up and pulls right next to my car to where I couldn't move to get to my car," said the mother. " He blocked me and rolled down his window and was asking me where my kids were and why weren't they with me."

She says it felt as if the man had been watching her and her family. He continued to follow her even after she began to leave the parking lot. That's when she called police.

"We identified the driver as a transient from Iowa," said El Reno police Chief, Ken Brown. "He was headed back out of town."

Chief Brown says a lot of people have called police about suspicious vendors, but says this apparent stalker never tried selling anything.

"If you feel that there is something out of the ordinary that raises the hair on the back of your head, contact the local department and let us check it out," Chief Brown said.

"I don't know if it's just me being too paranoid, but it just seems too coincidental," the mother said.

This mother also says, last week, a younger man came to her home saying he was a financial advisor and nearly forced his way inside.

"He was wanting to know where my husband worked, where I worked, how many kids were in the house."

Police say the accused man wasn't arrested after a traffic stop, because he didn't do anything illegal.

A reminder, police say registered door to door vendors should have a visible ID on them at all times.
