An Oklahoma City man was arrested on a complaint of child neglect, Tuesday, after allegedly leaving his baby boy in a car unattended while he went into a bar in the southwest part of the metro.

According to a report by the Oklahoma City Police Department, an off-duty police officer came across a running vehicle in the parking lot of the La Quinta Inn, located at 800 S. Meridian Ave., at around 1 a.m. on Tuesday.

The off-duty officer called police when he saw the young boy, approximately 14-months old, in the backseat of the vehicle, asleep in a car seat.

About five minutes after police arrived, the child's father, 28-year-old Christopher Lorenz emerged from the bar and was taken in to custody.

Officers questioned the bar tender, who said Lorenz came inside and ordered a double vodka-Red Bull and smoked a cigarette.

DHS was called to take custody of the child. No other information has been released at this time.
