OKC Police Arrest Man Accused Of Killing Father

A traffic accident led police to an Oklahoma City man accused of killing his own father.

Police say Jeffrey Canaday, 33, killed his father on July 23 in the home they shared in the 400 block of S.E. 55th Street. James Canaday, 57, was shot in the face and neck with a shotgun.

Witnesses told police Jeffrey Canaday had threatened to kill his father several times in the past. James Canaday even reportedly told his other son that he was afraid of Jeffrey.

Friday, July 25 around 6:20 p.m., police arrested Jeffrey Canaday following a traffic accident in the 4700 block of W. Reno Avenue. He was booked in to the Oklahoma County jail on a first-degree murder complaint.
