A Claremore High School agriculture teacher has been arrested for driving under the influence in Rogers County. The Rogers County Sheriff's Office reports that Matt Wayne Boyer was taken into custody early Saturday, August 10 and released the same day.

Boyer, 36, is also listed as the school's FFA advisor.

Sergeant Jerry Smittle said Boyer was southbound on Highway 88 at the Oologah Dam just before 2 a.m. A deputy saw Boyer's pickup swerving and made a traffic stop, he said.

"He swerved at the wrong time which was right in front of our deputies," Smittle said.

The deputy gave Boyer a field sobriety test and arrested him for driving under the influence. Boyer was arrested with 23-year-old Bryce Garrett Bethel, a recent graduate of the OSU Department of Agriculture and the ag instructor at Foyil.

Bethel had difficulty standing and threw up during the traffic stop, according to the arrest report. He was arrested on complaints of public intoxication and carrying firearms while under the influence.
