Tulsa Man Found Guilty Of 2011 Double Murder

TULSA, Oklahoma -

Jurors returned a guilty verdict Wednesday night in a Tulsa double murder trial.

Zane Atchison was convicted on two counts of first degree murder one count of larceny of an automobile for the August 2011 shooting deaths of Patrick Shawn and Kaylyn Kosofsky in south Tulsa.

Prosecutors say the motive for the shooting was a large drug debt owed by Shawn.

Police arrested Atchison the next day, after he tried to steal a pickup truck.

The court ruled Wednesday to dismiss charges of larceny of an automobile and attempting to elude a police officer.

The DA is seeking the death penalty.
