Summer Heat Eases Up

Posted: Updated:

Today is the beginning of "meteorological fall" and, on cue, a cold front pushed through the region, taking us closer to those autumn-like conditions. We've still got a ways to go. Even behind this cold front, highs will still reach 90°. However, a north wind will eventually dry out the air and make the days ahead more comfortable.

If you're not laboring inside for Labor Day, you'll get the chance to enjoy some of this great weather coming our way. While meteorological summer (June, July and August) may be over, we still have a string of 90°-days to weather. Our summer may have not been all that hot compared to the last two years, but its weather may linger on a little longer. Be sure to check out the attached list of our official summer stats!

Another rather uneventful weather week lies ahead. High pressure will be in control as temperatures rise about a degree or two each day. By the end of the week, we'll be back to above-normal temperatures with highs in the mid-90s. Some moisture may return and a shower or storm may occur next weekend, but the main storm track remains well to our north.

No big cool-down appears imminent and the Tropical Season is eerily quiet at the moment. We're just a little over a week from the peak of that season, but nothing more than a few disorganized Tropical waves are pushing through the genesis regions in the Atlantic basin.

Enjoy what's left of the holiday weekend and hopefully you get a chance to take advantage of the refreshing air! Be sure to follow me on Twitter: @GroganontheGO and like my page on Facebook!
