Jose Martinez played hero twice Sunday by forcing extra innings with a three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth, then sealing a 5-4 walk-off win for the Oklahoma City RedHawks with a RBI single in the bottom of the 11th inning against the Memphis Redbirds Sunday in front of 5,668 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The RedHawks (81-62) trailed 4-0 entering the bottom of the ninth inning and came back in thrilling fashion to beat Memphis (69-74), which is battling with Omaha for the PCL American Northern Division title.

The winner of the American Northern will play the American Southern Division champion RedHawks in a best-of-five playoff series starting Sept. 4-5 in Oklahoma City.

Sunday's victory brought Oklahoma City's win total to 81 on the season, as the RedHawks reached the milestone for the first time since 2004.

Memphis' Jamie Romak used a double to break through a scoreless tie in the third inning. His hit into the left field corner scored two runs to give Memphis a 2-0 lead.

The Redbirds held Oklahoma City scoreless through eight innings and added two runs on a pair of RBI singles in the top of the ninth.

The RedHawks had none on base with two outs in the bottom of the ninth before a double from Che-Hsuan Lin and single by Carlos Perez. After a Memphis pitching change, a RBI double by Jimmy Paredes scored Oklahoma City's first run of the night.

Martinez followed by belting a three-run homer toward the left field corner to knot the score, 4-4, with two outs.

Jon Singleton led off the bottom of the 11th with a single and was pushed to second on a sac bunt from Lin. Perez singled and the Redbirds intentionally walked Paredes to load the bases for Martinez after a pitching change.

Martinez singled on a fly ball to deep center field to score Singleton for the win. Sunday marked the second time in four games Martinez sealed a walk-off victory for the RedHawks.

Pitcher Blair Walters made his Triple-A debut Sunday in a spot start for the RedHawks. He went 4.1 innings and allowed two runs on four hits. He walked three and struck out four.

Patrick Urckfitz and Jose Cisnero combined to hold the Redbirds scoreless through four innings of relief. Hector Ambriz (1-2) pitched the final three innings, allowing two runs and five hits in the win.

Memphis starter Boone Whiting held the RedHawks scoreless through six innings, allowing six hits, walking one and striking out three. Nick Greenwood (2-8) was charged with the loss.

Oklahoma City closes out the regular season and its four-game series against Memphis at 11:05 a.m. Monday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
