An often crowded driver's license test site is closing its doors for good, so if you're used to going to the Department of Public Safety site in Yukon, you'll now have to find another location.

DPS will shut down the site because it does not have any working restrooms.

"It's pathetic, and it's gone steadily downhill. The carpeting is disgusting. The walls needed painting," said Howard Diamond of Norman.

Diamond says he comes to the DPS driver license test site in Yukon daily to survey people for his job. He says the Yukon location is an eyesore.

"Right now for the last three and a half months, I've seen the issue here with the plumbing," Howard said. "They have had to close the bathrooms because apparently they have a collapsed pipe underneath it."

So DPS posted a notice saying it will be closing down the Yukon site indefinitely.

DPS Commissioner Michael Thompson said in a statement:

"Due to the lack of restroom facilities, and the unsanitary conditions for the public and the department employees, we have few options other than to close the Yukon location and look for a more suitable facility to serve the public."

Wendy Girten lives nearby and says it'll be stressful trying to get her son's license and her motorcycle license.

"Now, I've got to figure out how to get a third party to get him and a motorcycle all the way to Edmond at $4 a gallon?" Girten said. "And now it's not an hour missed of school, it will be a full day missed of school."

Girten's family was hit hard in the El Reno storm and says the closing of this Yukon driving test site is the last thing they needed.

"We lost our home in the May 31st tornado, so we're juggling as it is, and this is just one more headache," Girten said.

The last day the Yukon facility will be open is Friday, Sept. 6, 2013. Anyone coming to the site will have to find somewhere else to use the restroom.

The Yukon DPS driver license employees will be relocated to the Edmond and I-240 locations for the time being.
