A missing toddler is back in his mother's arms and his father is behind bars. Authorities issued an Amber Alert for two-year-old Jason Taylor, of Tulsa, when his father took off with the child on Tuesday.

Authorities witnessed a tearful reunion between two-year-old Jason Taylor and his mother around 5 o'clock on Thursday morning. The reunion came more than 30 hours after his father allegedly abducted him from an apartment in Tulsa.

Tulsa Police say they were able to catch up with the father thanks to a local fisherman.

"I could hear him shuffling around and my blood was pumping," Carl Chism, of Sperry, immediately noticed a change of scenery near his usual fishing hole at 106 St. N. & Lewis in Tulsa. "We pulled on up there and I said 'hey wait that's from the Amber Alert.'"

Chism thought the black Chevy Tahoe, tucked in behind some trees, fit the description in the Amber Alert issued for two-year-old Jason Taylor. In the alert, authorities notified the public Jason Taylor had been abducted on September 3 by his father, William Taylor, a man with a history of violence and mental illness.

"I crawled around back and got a tag number on it and it matched it and they said don't let em go," with police on the way, Chism played out several scenarios in his mind - confident he would rescue the boy from any potential harm. "If he got out quick enough, you know I would tackle him and hold him there."

He crouched down close to the vehicle until officers arrived. Chism said William Taylor used his son as a body shield when police approached.

"Officers were asking him to open the door," Chism said Taylor began screaming but officer busted out a window and pulled the boy to safety.

"He looked like he was cold," Chism literally gave the child the shirt off his back. "You know he was traumatized, of course, it was hard on a little fella but he was alright."

Jason's father, William Taylor was arrested on two complaints for violation of a protective order. Officers say Taylor was not armed at the time of his arrest and they did not find any weapons during a search of the vehicle. Taylor is now being held in the Tulsa County Jail
