Tulsa Earns 2-0 Win Against Oral Roberts

TULSA -- Jordan O'Brien and Camille Pelley each tallied a goal to give Tulsa a 2-0 win against cross-town rival Oral Roberts on Friday night at the Case Soccer Complex on the ORU campus.

TU moved to 4-1 on the season, while ORU fell to 2-1 overall.

O'Brien put the Golden Hurricane on the board at the 32:16 mark as she scored off a through ball from Alexa Sidorakis from 10 yards out. Tulsa held onto the advantage and took a 1-0 lead into the break.

Pelley gave TU a two-goal cushion in the 60th minute off a pass put in front of the net by Roman Edwards for the final score.

Tulsa had a narrow 12-11 advantage in shots, including a 5-1 lead in shots on goal, and both teams had six corner kicks in the contest.

TU's Hayley Harryman logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up one save for her third shutout on the year.

TU's McIntosh Earns 200th Career Win Against Ohio State

TULSA -- Tulsa men's soccer coach Tom McIntosh earned his 200th career win with a 4-1 victory over Ohio State on Friday night in the Holiday Inn City Center Golden Hurricane Classic at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.

TU moved to 2-1 on the season, while the Buckeyes fell to 1-2 overall.

Cristian Mata scored his first goal of the season off a pass from Akeil Barrett at the 10:58 mark to give TU an early lead. Bryce Follensbee added a goal in the 31st minute with Cristian earning the assist to give the Golden Hurricane a 2-0 lead at the break.

In the second frame, Tony Rocha put one into the back of the net and Barrett picked up his second assist on the night at the 52:01 mark, but Ohio State's Christian Soldat got one back just 57-seconds later as he drilled in a cross from Danny Jensen from five yards out.

In the 67th minute Barrett scored from five yards out off a pass from Kyle Cumings for the final score.

Tulsa had a 25-6 lead in shots, including a 15-2 advantage in shots on goal, and had a narrow 5-4 lead in corner kicks.

Follensbee led the Hurricane attack with seven shots, while Rocha and Cristian each had five shots, and Barrett took three attempts. Cody Mumma logged all 90 minutes in goal.

Cowgirls Battle No. 2 Florida State To Draw

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Oklahoma State snapped Florida State's 21-game home winning streak Friday night as the Cowgirls battled to a 1-1 draw against the second-ranked Seminoles at the Seminole Soccer Complex.

With the result, OSU is now 3-0-2 on the season, while FSU stands at 4-0-1. The Noles' last non-win on their home field was a 3-0 loss to Maryland on Oct. 13, 2011.

The Cowgirls nearly pulled off the upset, but after clinging to a one-goal lead throughout most of the second half, OSU gave up the equalizer with just 69 seconds remaining in regulation.

FSU controlled the attack in the opening half, outshooting the Cowgirls by a 14-2 margin. But goalie Rosa Medina collected a pair of saves, and in the 38th minute, she got some help from defender Lauren Reyes. On a shot from eight-yards out by Anna McClung, a diving Medina was able to get a hand on the ball, and Reyes saved the deflection off the line.

After the scoreless first half, OSU needed just over seven minutes to get on the scoreboard following intermission.

And once again it was freshman Courtney Dike providing the scoring as she beat an FSU defender and then delivered a shot from 18-yards out to the top of the far post. The goal was the sixth of the season for Dike and only the second the Seminoles have given up this season.

Despite FSU's continued pressure, OSU held onto the lead with standout defense, including another save off the line by Reyes on a header by Kristin Grubka from 10-yards out at the 84:20 mark.

But with the seconds ticking down, the Seminoles finally got the equalizer. After a thrown in, FSU goalie Kelsey Wys delivered a ball into the box. Dagny Brynjarsdottir sent a header towards the goal, and Jamie Fields flicked a header into the back of the net to tie the score with 88:51 left in regulation.

In the first overtime period, Dike nearly notched a game winner as she collected a long pass and gained a step on two FSU defenders just inside the 18-yard box. But a charging Wys snuffed out the play, deflecting Dike's 12-yard shot to keep the tie intact.

Florida State finished with a 31-7 advantage in shots but only nine of those were on goal as Medina finished with six saves and the Cowgirls recorded a pair of team saves. The Seminoles also owned a slight 8-6 advantage on corner kicks.

OSU returns to action Sunday at No. 10 Florida. Kickoff is set for noon (CST).

Bears Slip By Oral Roberts

CONWAY, Ark. – The Oral Roberts men's soccer team controlled the ball much of the contest, but Central Arkansas made its opportunity count as the Bears took down the Golden Eagles 1-0 in Conway, Ark.

ORU fell to 0-3 this season, while the Bears moved to 2-1.

The lone goal of the match came in the 31st minute as Logan Miller blasted the ball into the back of the net from 25 yards out on a free kick.

Of the seven shots the Golden Eagles took in the match, four were on target. Gerardo Salas had a team-high two shots on goal, while Johnny Chavez and Griffith Poindexter each had clean looks.

Both keepers in the contest, ORU's Ben LaCourse and UCA's Taran Meyer, recorded four saves on the night.

Up next for the Golden Eagles is the back end of their weekend road trip as they head east to Memphis on Sunday for a 1 p.m. showdown with the Tigers.
