Here's an instant look at Tulsa's 30-27 win over Colorado State.  Stay with us for the full game recap.

What went well:

Tulsa's offense got back on track Saturday night, racking up 427 yards and 30 points. Trey Watts' 152 yards helped the Hurricane rush for a total of 215, while Cody Green stepped up bigtime in the passing game.

What went wrong:

The opening five minutes mirrored last week's special teams' disaster. Trey Watts fumbled a punt return and the Hurricane had a punt blocked that resulted in a CSU touchdown. Fortunately, things got cleaned up quickly.

Player of the game:

Cody Green. As the leader of the offense, it was up to Green to steer the ship back on course. He did just that, tossing for 212 yards and three touchdowns for the Hurricane. Green has the ability to make big-time throws, and Saturday night was a prime example.

Play of the game:

Tied at 27, with the ball at their own 35 yard line and less than a minute on the clock, it looked like Tulsa was content just running the clock out and heading for overtime. But Watts had other plans and took the ensuing handoff 45 yards all the way to the Rams' 20, setting Carl Salazar up to be the hero.

It was over when:

Salazar, the first-year kicker who botched his two attempts last week, came through in the clutch with a game-winning field goal. Salazar nailed a 34-yard kick as time expired to lift TU to the win.

What's next:

Tulsa (1-1) heads to Norman to face its headline matchup of the season. The Hurricane will look to upend the Sooners, who all the sudden have a quarterback controversy. They won't be favored, but stranger things have happened.
