Oklahoma State's J.W. Walsh has been named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week and Oklahoma's Gabe Lynn earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Walsh connected on 24-of-27 passes for 326 yards and four touchdowns in OSU's 56-35 win against UTSA. His 88.9 completion percentage set a new OSU record for single-game completion percentage, minimum 20 pass attempts. He added a rushing touchdown as well.

A junior from Denton, Texas, Walsh had more touchdown passes (four) than incomplete passes (three) in the game.

Walsh's 239.20 pass efficiency mark in the contest was good for the fourth-best single-game mark in school history and his QBR of 98.1 is the highest for any Big 12 quarterback in a single game this year, according to ESPN Stats and Information. Walsh started the game by completing 10 consecutive passes, then had two incompletions, then completed 10 consecutive passes again. By the time his day was done at the 9:47 mark of the third quarter, OSU held a 42-7 lead.

This is the first Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honor for Walsh and is the first for a Cowboy since Josh Stewart earned the recognition following OSU's win over West Virginia last season.

Lynn finished OU's 16-7 win against West Virginia with three tackles, a fumble recovery and an interception. The Sooners' defense has now allowed just seven points through two games, tying for fourth in the nation among FBS programs.

With Oklahoma leading 13-7 in the third quarter and West Virginia on the OU 49-yard line, Lynn recorded the first interception of his career when he picked off a pass over the middle by the Mountaineers' Paul Millard.

On West Virginia's very next possession, Lynn again brought the drive to a halt. Kevin White took a pass from Millard and got all the way down to the Oklahoma 19-yard line before junior defensive back Quentin Hayes stripped him of the ball. Lynn scooped it up for his second career fumble recovery and returned it 27 yards to the Oklahoma 41.

Lynn becomes the first Oklahoma defensive player to earn weekly conference honors since Ronnell Lewis won on Nov. 7, 2011.
