The Sports Illustrated article named several people who allegedly paid OSU football players hundreds and even thousands of dollars. One of those men is John Talley, who works with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at OSU.

The allegations regarding John Talley and others associated with the program all came from former players. But there are other one-time Cowboys who tell a different story, and they were out in force, wanting to be heard.

These former players are shocked, and angry. The football program described in the Sports Illustrated article is not the program they remember.

Many ex-players are speaking out. Jeremiah Burton is a former fullback and special teams guy, who played under both Les Miles and Mike Gundy. He says he would have seen it, if other players had been getting payments.

"Either I'm blind or I'm naive, but I didn't see anyone getting any money in the locker rooms or any on the walk. Getting handed envelopes. On the plane, I think it said something about on the plane people getting envelopes with cash, I think that's kind of absurd to even think about," he said.

Burton also takes issue with the allegation that players were getting paid for work they didn't do specifically construction work at Boone Pickens stadium, he was there.

"I mean it was hot out there, and we actually had to work, and I worked side by side with those guys, so to say that they did not show up or didn't work, is kinda funny," he said.

Burton says he was actually fired from that construction job, because he had a conflict with a class and showed up late to the job one time. He says it wasn't a sham, only the article is.
