Plenty of Cowboys fans are talking about the series of reports on sports radio stations across Oklahoma.

Many are critical of Sports Illustrated, and some are curious about what comes next for the program and the articles still set to be released this week.

Although not as many as on day one of the Sports Illustrated reports on Oklahoma State's football program, there are still plenty of people fired up and firing phone calls to Oklahoma sports talk radio stations.

On 97.1, the Sports Animal, in Tulsa, callers had questions, comments and criticism for the authors of the SI series of stories, claiming improprieties in the Cowboys football program from 2001 through 2011.

Patrick Macek is a sports talk radio host, fielding tons of calls on the controversy.

"I feel there are things that are far-fetched, especially looking at the article yesterday, I don't believe guys just handed envelopes of cash in a locker room," Macek said.

The latest SI installment says a dozen Cowboys say they participated in some form of academic misconduct, and another 16 were named by teammates as having schoolwork done for them.

Macek doesn't discount the Sports Illustrated series altogether, saying it could bring up some things that need to be addressed, and that OSU has done a good job addressing the controversy.

"I think they've gotten out in front of it, they've expressed shame, not blame," Macek said.

And Macek doesn't think there will be any long term ramifications for the program.

Other than the comments on his sports radio show, former OSU head coach Pat Jones declined doing an interview on the Sports Illustrated series until all of the reports are released.
