Burning, Abandoned Car Found In Northwest Tulsa

The fire department is investigating after finding a car on fire Thursday morning near a northwest Tulsa housing addition.

Neighbors called the fire department about a car on fire in woods north of Apache and east of Gilcrease Museum Road. 

Fire officials said residents heard an explosion and then saw smoke.

The Tulsa Fire Department had to use a brush truck to get to the scene.

Officials say the fire is suspicious because the area is isolated with limited access and the car was destroyed.

The car appears to be a Ford Fusion.
