After spending some time in Canada on vacation and doing some serious fishing, still trying to get back into the swing of things. It was even much warmer than normal where I was in Canada and of course it has been much too warm around here so far this month. However, we are getting a nice little break today and Saturday morning will start off with temperatures in the 50s which will be below normal for a change. Sunday morning will likely be cooler than normal as well before things start warming up again.

Although we have cooled off somewhat, this is a rather brief cool-down and Sunday will see a return to warmer conditions which will extend through much of next week. In fact, temperatures should be running warmer than normal both at night as well as during the day for much of next week.

Not only that, but there will also be almost daily chances of showers/storms for much of next week. However, the weekend looks to be dry with mostly sunny skies for Saturday and partly cloudy skies for Sunday. Light easterly winds to start the day Saturday will become more SE during the day and then southerly for Sunday. Another weak boundary will make a run at us Sunday night bringing a chance of showers/storms for Sunday night and into the day Monday. After that, southerly winds should be the general rule along with warmer nights and warm/humid days for much of next week and daily chances of showers/storms.

Notice the 7 day QPF map on the right which has a precipitation bulls-eye over extreme southern TX. That is due to tropical storm Ingrid which formed in the far southern Gulf of Mexico and is expected to make landfall in northern Mexico. Copious amounts of precipitation will likely accompany TS Ingrid but we expect that moisture to stay well south of us. As you can see though, the daily chances of showers/storms for much of next week could still result in as much as an inch or so for much of the state as well. We could certainly use the moisture.

So, stay tuned and check back for updates.
