Tulsa Area United Way Sets 2013 Fundraising Goal Over $25 Million

The Tulsa Area United Way kicked off it's 2013 campaign at Friday night's Backyard Bowl, the Jenks vs. Union football game.

This year's fundraising goal is set at $25,200,000, which is $175,000 more than 2012's goal. The Jenks High School marching band helped reveal the goal before the more than 18,000 football fans packed into TU's Chapman Stadium.

The campaign will end on November 14, with a celebration at the Tulsa Community College's Center for Creativity downtown.

The organization set the bar high last year, by raising a total of $25,575,522.

As in previous years, all of the funds raised will be invested back into the community.
